The Lin trade was a L but as expected you don't acknowledge the owner pushed for Lin. He struck out on the big name free agents that's common knowledge. Dude's trying to maintain flexibility but i think most rockets fans would tell you flexibility doesn't win games right now. We'll see how it works out but I've already stated he's not running his plan but rather the owner. Doesn't fit your agenda though.

Analytics certainly didn't help the Suns when they went against the Bulls in the Finals in 93 and they damn sure didn't help Barkley and the Suns when the blew a 3-1 lead to the Rockets in back to back seasons in the playoffs in 94 and 95. He got Harden, and Howard here. The stands are filled and the Rockets are in the playoffs every year. Not to mention they're not that far from winning a championship. Plus since Morey took over in 07 Rockets have the 3rd best record in the league over that time. I'd say they won with Morey. And don't act like GSW don't have some things to prove in the playoffs either bro.

I think the media tends to over complicate/mythologize it and people are reacting to that. Spurs shoot a bunch of corner threes because they looked at the stats and saw those were good shots. That's "using analytics". Guys like Patty Mills and Danny Green thrive in the Spurs "system" because their placing in them in positions that utilize their talents and hide their weaknesses. Again, "analytics" helps to determine what those situations are.

That's the problem. The media deifies some of these analytics guys and blow everything they do out of proportion like they are the only ones smart enough to figure something out.

As much as I hate to admit it, the D'Antoni Suns should be getting most of the credit for the league's preferred style of play now. Even though they never got over the hump, they fathered modern offenses and nobody is trumpeting whatever analytics they used.

Since 07 the warriors have been to the second round twice while the rockets only once.

Fact is I'm not totally against analytics, but when these nerds manipulate stats and try and tell me kyle korver is a better player than Kobe I just wanna open hand slap them.
