Since 07 the warriors have been to the second round twice while the rockets only once. :manny:
They've done nothing of note so i have no idea why you quoted me.

So we praising getting to the second round now? And I quoted you to let you know that since 07 the Rockets have the 3rd best record in the league you have to win to do that. Plus he made moves that got cornerstone players to the organization. I'm not saying other teams are envious I'm just saying Morey has made some power moves since he's been in Houston.

That's the problem. The media deifies some of these analytics guys and blow everything they do out of proportion like they are the only ones smart enough to figure something out.

As much as I hate to admit it, the D'Antoni Suns should be getting most of the credit for the league's preferred style of play now. Even though they never got over the hump, they fathered modern offenses and nobody is trumpeting whatever analytics they used.

Morey went on national TV and credited the suns years ago

I'm not praising anything. You brought the warriors up when i said the rockets and morey haven't accomplished anything even with these so called "power moves". The warriors have been a more successful playoff team without that stuff yet you said we have something to prove and that the rockets are close to being a championship teams:russ: . This current rockets team isn't really better than the yao and tmac teams, so all of morey's tenure has been lateral improvement.

His efficiency is a result of being used alot less and not being the focal point of the offense.

Pretty much, they're not even comparable players....but a lot of guys will use stuff like efficiency ratings and PER when comparing players, when in fact the 2 players roles\responsibilites are wildly different

We need to put parameters on this thing man.....Why do you think he's more efficient...and what is he more efficient at exactly?
For example kobe bryant usage rate this year is 35% kyle korvers is 14.2 yet kobe is only averaging 9 more points per game then korver is one example.

I beg to differ becuz I feel the Rockets are built to win playoff series. They have length, 3pt shooting, aggressive defenders that can switch and guard multiple positions and they have a system that I like. I think Brewer, Smith and Ariza add a lot and if Harden can continue to play like his playing now, D12 can be 85-95% come playoff time and TJones is all the way back I think the Conf Finals is not out of the question. Harden must play like this in the playoffs or even better tho.

but thats the entire point of the advanced analytics is how to properly use a player so that they are actually making a difference.

i was hating morey too, before this year that is where all his findings of talent is really showing. the guy picked out jones and montasjonuas and kept them over the likes of marcus morris/pat patterson/thomas robinson/royce white(lel at that pick ever being made though). he's not perfect, but the guy has found great talent to surround his stars with.

at first i thought the rockets would be dead in the water when bosh denied them, parsons left, and they traded lin/asik without getting any quality players back, but yet they continue to thrive and compete(mostly on the brilliance of harden, which again was a totally coup by him).

they're no contender and they're certainly not perfect, but Morey has done a good job with his analytics and building a roster. i dont think you can base everything on analytics, and im sure morey doesn't, but you can't deny that he's done a good job of transitioning the rockets from a treadmill team to a pseudo-contender without EVER resorting to tanking. i find that shyt impressive since every other team these days is trying to tank to get good, while he stayed in the middle until he got good.

getting rid of dragic, especially for the cheap ass contract that the suns got him for, was a giant fukking mistake though.
