Wow, I am glad to see this just isn't me, and you have a similar train of thought and experience. Of course, I realize it's not, (just me) but I am still surprised, even as I encounter it more and more. I don't see it as just generational either, it's anyone who since 2012 has been fixated on social media/texts/smart phones
I never had social media, obviously I have had an iphone for a decade plus and text, but it hasn't entirely warped the way I think or socialize. It still seems weak, passive, and even cowardly, but I am an outlier.
There are a lot of studies and papers and opinion pieces from the usual academic media circles about this now.
The initial date has to be active...
Any activity where you can kind of talk shyt to them so they can loosen up a bit...
I'm not much of a text person, but I've had to humble myself and kind of adapt until the comfort level reaches where I would like...
It's just a different world out here
