Out of interest, is there any massive negative aspect to working out and eating much later? e.g. 6-8 hours later. I will be working out at a university gym in the morning/early afternoon depending on the day and do not like to eat until I get home. I typically break my fast at 4PM or later, I'm combining intermittent fasting with keto.
If it comes to it I guess I could find a way to pack a lunch but I'd rather not.

I haven't worked out for quite a while but I remember everyone would go on about needing to eat 2 hours after a workout.

It would seem optimal for building muscle for certain.

Generally speaking I don't doing a heavy lifting sesssion followed by that much fasting is wise. It can be done sure but I my advice would be to give your body some form of fuel if possible.

I might be able to manage say grilled chicken, boiled eggs and green salad.

I just need to hunt for an insulated cool bag of some sort.

I've done a lot of reading on this and some reputable sources say meal timing is irrelevant. As long as your hitting your target calories for the day, doesn't matter when you do it.

It's relevant but based on what the goal is, some approaches can be more optimal.

Just my opinion but a lot of diets and methods work because of the related factors that come with it. If it doesn't work for your lifestyle then the minimal gains likely aren't worth it.

If it's not possible to have a meal then it is what it is but if you are training really had Inwould look at getting something in your system, protein shake, bar, nuts, etc.

Tested one rep maxes again this week (5'10", 205-208)

Deadlift: 515x1 :lift:
Squat: 415x1 :lift:
Bench: 275x1 :flabbynsick::trash:

I can't bench for shyt. :francis: It didn't even go up from last time. On the plus side, I got to a 505 belt less deadlift and 405 belt less squat, so I'm happy about that. :ld:

I'm gonna test my maxes one more time in March before I start cutting.

I would try eating an hour or so before your workout and seeing how that affects your performance

I was doing fasted workouts for a while but the shyt was blunting my performance. I wouldn't even considering doing legs, I would pass out. Finally one day I just couldn't do the workout... I was too effing hungry. That was the last time I worked out fasted. These days I still do IF but I will break the fast with lunch and then go work out right after. Might not work for you but it's at least worth a shot.....

IF is best used as a way to get you used to consuming less calories IMO. Do IF for a bit but have a plan for stopping it and following it up with smaller portions per meal

I think I fukked my back up couple weeks ago deadlifting, and I've been hesitant since. I feel fine now but the lift isn't the issue for me, it's putting back to the ground. I don't wanna start dropping the bar :mjcry:

It's no biggie to me if I'm near a piece of equipment, but across the gym...:mjlol: Unless they in my face mid-set. I had a couple people do that with my hoodie and headphones in an they just hand motion and I give a nod or shake depending on my answer.

Shoulders grew a half a inch from last month...
