If your shoulders hurt from doing bench press it's possible you're rolling them forward and not engaging the chest enough.
Arch your back (put your chest out) and keep your shoulders back.
Or you may be pressing with your elbows flared out, which also isn't good.
Jeff talks too much sometimes but in mid-video he shows an example of the arch benefit.
Oh nah they were good during the bench press. I felt the weight on the lifts but pushed thru with no problem. Had just been like two weeks since I benched so had to get that adjustment back but wasn't an issue.
The problem was later. After bench I did seated shoulder presses with 35s, incline and decline bench presses with 40s, and flys with 17.5. At the end I wanted to do some Arnold press with 25 so I grabbed some and I felt the pressure especially on my left side. I did the second set with 17.5 but toughened out the last one with 25s. I think the problem was doing all those presses beforehand with the dunbbells overworked my shoulders. I usually do that exercise earlier in the workout. Or maybe I had to use a lighter weight.
Usually do chest and shoulders together. Plus having done back the day before, both those areas have an effect on your shoulders even tho ones a push and ones a pull. I just think I used too much a weight that I should and having done too much for the day, it just felt tougher than normal.
