I do upper/lower but my strategy for cardio is to only do it the days after my lower days. So not the day of or the day before. That works out to be Monday, Thursday and Friday on my routine. I was doing 80-90 minutes of cardio a day during my cut and recovering fine so that should work.
*EDIT* Now that I think about it I was riding the day before legs.... I would do my long ride on Saturday morning and then do my upper Saturday afternoon, and lower Sunday afternoon. So yea you might be able to do cardio the day before, but I would give it a little more than 24 hours (so like cardio the morning before, and then legs the following afternoon/night)
