Got a major headache and wanted to hit spin. Damn, might not get any exercise in today if I can’t get this to calm down in the next ~hour

How do y’all come up with your workouts? PT or just freestyle? I need to structure my workouts better
Tons of templates online and apps. Stick to compound/basic moves, no need for crazy accessory work or complex workouts if you ain’t trying to body build.

First step is usually decide on a split - how many days do you want to lift? IMO, the following is a good way to decide

3x/week - 3 full body
- spread your compound lifts across the 3 (ie routine 1 - squats/shoulder press, 2 - dead/bench, 3 - row)
- I do supersets in most my workouts but especially find it helpful in full body routines, get them done faster and keep the heat rate up, plus it’s easier to find complimentary exercises
- you can also focus on the strong lifts/5x5 to start (you can lower weight and increase reps for this instead of doing it as a strength workout)

4x/week - upper/lower - my personal fave split

5-6x/week - push/pull/legs or upper lower

Full body routines, I’d try to aim for 7-8 exercises, other splits 6 (5 + 1 ab) is usually good

Full: chest, shoulder, back/lats, quads, hams, abs, (bicep), (tris), (calves), (lower back), (glutes) <— choose 1-2 in parentheses to add to the 6 main exercises

Look at an exercise library (exrx.net) and try to vary your routines to hit areas from different movements - ie vertical vs horizontal pulling for back, lateral vs press movement for shoulder, unilateral vs bilateral leg work, regular curls vs hammer curls (preacher curls are cool too but not really functional) - and equipment, ie free weights, body, kettlebell, cable, bands...stay away from machines

I could go on, but you can literally steal templates from the net, make 2-3 variations and be set for 6-12 weeks

My after work gym time was my sacred me time and I cant even have that anymore:mjcry:

Doing more core exercises to help alleviate some back pain. All this damn sitting at my desk all day is straight trash. Good thing I'm getting a standing desk next week.

Also doing quad work to alleviate knee pain as a well.

Pulled up at the gym at 4:30am and was surprised that by 5:30 that shyt was filling up. I go “late” on purpose just to not be around a lot of people and it’s much more peaceful.

Kept the routine simple because I’m trying to be more consistent so I warmed up on the treadmill, did arms on the free weights (no machines today) and kettlebell, which damn near had me in zombie mode when i was done :lolbron:

Glad I went and this winter is gonna be a journey. Can’t wait for those cold ass snowy days when there’s only gonna be like 5 people there.

being able to lift a woman in different ways will always turn her on..real talk

this past friday...i was doing some work on the computer, my lady comes over and takes over my lap and asks me what im doing...i told her just finishing up a script..then shes like lunch is ready..im like cool..then i cradle her and lift her as im getting out of my chair...then lift her over my head after standing...shes like :damn: then i drop her gently on the bed..shes like :shaq:..shes about 5'4 around 150-155...shes like im so turned on....then i show off and lift her off the bed from lying position back into cradle position while im standing

it was a wrap for her self control :mjlit:


i also later pick her up by her armpits over my head when she called herself trying to block me from the bathroom lol

its great being physically strong :boss:

i am also happy i didnt flare up my tendinitis in my elbow and shoulder doing all that lol :russ:..:whew:



well cardio and abs in about a hour
