Completed a 5th session in 7 days. Took Wed/Fri off.

Going back tomorrow too. All machines and ab work. No iron.

It's a beautiful thing

One thing I’ve religiously done for core is hanging leg raises and twists superset with ab crunches

core was a weakness when I wasn’t in the best of shape before I transformed but now my core is way stronger

even now that I’m bulking and lifting heavy I always make sure to do my abs every 2nd day.

so when I do a cut closer to the summer the abs will show way more. Gotta build them up like every other muscle part.

@The ADD @tampabaysbeast Followed you guys advised an I am going with Stronglift 5x5. I won't lie the beginner pics have me second guessing HEAVY. People end up looking DYEL OR have that Bullfrog Effect. However, after countless information overload I'm just going fukk IT. Might as well get this going and had my first session today. Gotta hand it to the creator. This one week just feeling the bar and getting the motion of things a blessing. Its kinda akward being in the gym and mad embarrassing (especially how weak I am). Going to keep at this and hopefully I see some good results. This dude's WAY WAY to skiny than I am but I'm kinda hoping this kinda gain effect in 6-7 months.

Ummm...a lot of the people reporting DYEL, Bullfrog Effect, Centaur/T-Rex Status, etc. 1) Stopped doing SL 5x5 before they should have and 2) Did not do any (or enough) accessory work. If you add things like heavy Barbell Curls, Skullcrushers or Close-Grip Bench, Dips, and Chin/Pull-ups (weighted if possible), and continue the program until you have legit intermediate/advanced stats, you won't have that problem.

If you're not benching at least 225 for reps, squatting 315, and pulling at least 4 plates when you stop the program, then of course you'll look like a DYEL fukkboy.

:wow:

I'm about to replace the warm ups in app amd cycle them with Bicep Curls, ChinUp/Dips. The biggest issue people seem to have is 1. No Arms - underdeveloped Bi/Triceps/Forearms. 2. Overdeveloped Quads/Rear Glutes. 3. Gaining Belly Fat. Tomorrow is my rest day so Im about to get diet on lock.

If you're adding accessory work then it's not really SL anymore :francis:

I don't really understand those 5 rep programs. I mean any program that incorporates progressive overload is gonna get you stronger. But why 5 reps only? Why no accessories? Even straight up powerlifters vary their reps and do accessories. Plus I feel like most people get into lifting for aesthetics... and SL (and SS) are def not aesthetics focused. Both are extremely well marketed though which IMO is the biggest driver of their popularity.

After an eternity of a love/hate relationship with squats because of butt wink Im finally working on the right way to fix it, its my piss poor ankle mobility :francis:
Im kinda mad that I neglected this for so long and never actually worked this since I started lifting :snoop:
Doing something for that DAILY now and getting that fixed as soon as possible, that mobility test was pathetic :damn:

Felt good to get in this weekend after having this cold the whole week. Having pre-workout def comes clutch sometimes. :francis:

Gonna cut down to 4-days a week and I think I'm going to do less leg work and add a upper body exercise. :patrice:

SS and SL are more so for developing a strength base relatively quickly, which works. Also, it's simplicity is pretty attractive. I don't think anyone should be doing it though more than a year if you've had the proper strength gains.

Stalled on my cut on the scale (and even my waist measurement) but moving ahead visually. When you're on poverty macros and can't hold a pump you gotta take wins wherever they come from :to: To be fair I lost like 6lb in the first 2 weeks so I can't be mad. Still got another 14 to go :sadcam:

Fair enough. For a pure beginner I can see the appeal in this approach.

Did you notice any big muscle loss from that? I'm trying to cut down to 185 from 190 right now (by the end of the month) but I kinda worried about loosing muscle trying to move that quick since I've been on a slow cut since fall (was around 205 ish).
