Low-key, it kinda makes sense though. Think about it. Speed is not determined in large part by strength. I know a lot of cats much faster than me that can't squat nearly as much.
Dude is saying once you get past a squat that is 170% of your bodyweight, adding extra pounds to your lift won't make you inherently faster.
Makes sense to me. It explains why so many pro athletes, legit genetic freaks, are so weak when it comes to powerlifting but still dominate at their sport, ignoring the fact that they aren't PLers.
Also explains why I see so many football players working with their team trainers and only squatting 45°.
