Does working on legs help with weight loss?

I go to the gym and work on pills & pushes in alternating days, and I get on the stationary bike or elliptical after. On days I don’t go to the gym I run or hike up this mountain near me.

I always hear about how lifting can aid in weight loss, but does leg day help as well?

For the record I’m not someone who never did legs..legs are the most defined pieces on my body cause I use to run stairs a lot and do leg day like 3 times a week when I was younger.

I don’t do them that much these days cause my calves are brolic as fukk

People may not be cut but walking/running and not force feeding your face are both freely available during #lockdown

:comeon:

Running and self-control were around before covid and most people didn't do all that. Now, with lockdowns, no place to go, no school or work, possible curfews, shyt getting shutdown, and no gyms, it's gonna be whale week once this is over.

Yes, a proper leg day will make your whole body brolic, not just your legs or you calves. Heavy squats/deads will have your core tight, and all the calories burnt will aid in fat loss.

I mean yes because there should be some element for energy burn but it’s hard to quantify so I wouldn’t bank on it. Cal deficit and NEAT are more bankable. Lifting as a method to preserve muscle.

Don’t know if this is the place to post this, but I got way too relaxed during this quarantine and before I realized I gotta lose like 30lbs.

Last Tuesday I started doing this 5 miles daily thing, I mix walking with jogging, and intermittent fasting, I only eat between 12pm and 6pm, I throw some dumbbells in there too.

I’ve lost 6.6lbs in 6 days, my broski tryna tell me that’s too aggressive of a weight loss and I need to slow down a bit but I don’t think so and I feel fine.

what y’all brehs think?

Doesn’t seem wild for the first few weeks. Probably a lot of water weight.

How did you notice 30lbs tho :ld:
That’s a whole diff shirt or pants size brah :damn:

I stopped being any kind of active. I legit would wake up shower get back in bed and spend all day in bed including working. I didn’t even notice the clothes cause I mostly wear ball shorts and large tees for comfort at home. My girl is an essential worker so this is the busiest she’s ever been I was in bed getting all types of fukked up food from where I coul all day everyday :mjlol:

The thing is, I’ve been naturally lean/athletic my whole life cause I’m usually active. My brother pulled up the other day and was like what the fukk happened to you :francis: then my girls moms said “I hardly recognized you” that’s when I knew I had to look in the mirror:mjgrin:

nikka went to the scale and I’m 30lbs over my usual weight:pachaha:

To be honest I been working remotely since before the lockdown and I guess I just enjoyed lazying it up for a minute. I should be all good in 2 or 3 months. I’m not even doing any real work outs

SoCal specifically. People just walking around without a mask like everything is fine. I don't know what the numbers look like up there but down here it's bad.
Yeah people don't give a fukk in SoCal, especially in homogeneously white areas :mjpls:
Funny because these areas tend to have "more" educated people, so you'd think they'd take heed to advice coming from the health department and state government more seriously.

We saw this with the anti-vaxxers as well, during 2019. They also tend to come from highly educated and well off families, yet they were anti-vaccination. :dahell:
