Anyone got a good 30 day Ab workout/plan they suggest?

youtuber athleanx has a good app (6 pack abs), but its like $5 or $6 to unlock everything. Worth the money though IMO (since I hate doing abs). Has a 8 week routine and you can do shuffled ab workouts with a bunch of equipment (dumbbell, bands, pullup bar), pretty simple.

Does working on legs help with weight loss?

Yes. Muscles burn calories even when at rest hence people saying not to skip weight training when trying to lose weight. Your legs contain some of the larger muscles in your body so working them out will definitely help. On a cut/weight loss you want to focus on the large/compound lifts that hit the large muscles e.g. squats, DLs, bench press, bent over rows, OHP etc.

Running and self-control were around before covid and most people didn't do all that. Now, with lockdowns, no place to go, no school or work, possible curfews, shyt getting shutdown, and no gyms, it's gonna be whale week once this is over.

Quarantine 15 is REAL (:whoa: didn't happen to me though, I've been dropping weight).

During the lockdown people have to be particularly disciplined with their diet. Reminds me of when I started working full time after graduating college. The 4-5 miles I'd get walking to and from classes everyday disappeared overnight. Had to tighten things up in the kitchen to compensate.

Nice 5 mile walk, cut through Rock Creek Park for the first time, this place is beautiful :wow:

DC right? If so, that park is absolutely beautiful. I also enjoy walking by the Georgetown waterfront and then connecting to the Rock Creek Trail that runs parallel to the Potomac River. Amazing scenery.

High reps and/or supersets

where you located re: gyms reclosing?
LA

I'm already a super set type of person

Just finished doing my lower body work out of 20 squats into 20 barbell calf raises into 20 deadlifts

I really need more advice for the shorty I'm training , she finally got to 195lbs for squat sets, I don't want her loosing all the hard work she put in so I'm thinking of giving her my extra bar and like 80lbs, but I gotta think of a program to give her :feedme::feedme::feedme:

Y’all closing indefinitely or just a few days? I’m so confused by this shyt, I’ll see the news that stuff has to close for like 3 days. We ain’t never got shyt back in Oakland in the first place :damn:

anyway, if it’s another long layoff, she’s going to lose strength, all you can do is hope to maintain the muscle she has and lean on muscle memory when she gets back. I have ZERO clue what I’d be able to squat right now :francis:

Yessir! I live in Silver Spring so I can pretty much walk in any direction and see something new. A nice part of my walk was on Beach Drive :ahh:

What are her goals? What are her stats and lifts? What is her training history?

As @dora_da_destroyer said, she's gonna lose strength gains she's made, and fairly quickly if this closure is for any serious length of time (like more than 2 weeks).

You guys have a bench, rack, etc or just the bars and plates? There are minimal equipment 5/3/1 templates but they may not be appropriate depending on her history.

She's like 5'2, 146lbs last time we checked, great shape just super thick thighs, she's worked out for a few years but never like this, mainly Smith machine work

Her normal routine I have her do is

10x 95lbs squat

10x 115lbs

10x135lbs

10x 185lbs

8xreps 195

Then deadlifts with the same reps and sets as squats

4 sets of 70lbs single leg extensions for 25reps

And finish it off with HITT on stairmaster

Thanks for the help

Like they said some form of strength loss is inevitable but part of what she’s doing based on that routine is also the endurance it takes to complete the reps. She should be able to do well there even with body weight squats. Walking lunges will cook anyone even without weights

On a rack :wow:

Im damn proud of her, yet she feels self conscious and thinks ppl at the gym think she's weak :dwillhuh:

I'm like, you legit out lifting every girl that I've seen come through this gym:mjtf:

I havnt brought it up to her but I'm tryna avoid having her at my place all the time, don't want her to get too comfortable :unimpressed:

I don't have shyt but a bar, maybe 155lbs in weights if I throw the small cement weights on it and 2 dumbbell bars, I might be able to hit up my pops or grandpa to let me hold like 50lbs in free weights, I'm just tryna let her hold some weights and build her a program to minimize her strength loss

Gotcha. Must be nice. Training someone like that would be a dream come true. :noah:

Too many females outchea like @dora_da_destroyer that don't wanna squat til the cows come home. :francis:

Can't think of any pograms to run with so little equipment. All the ones I can think of need at least a bench and a rack/squat stand. :ld:
