I only wear wireless Studios in the gym. :ahh: (Mains are 2.0s, backups are 3.0s).

Them pods and buds be falling all out my ear and don't have enough NC to drown out the sound of plates slamming on the floor/platform.

@Serious @All-Black the Necroverse @portcityplaya @The ADD @Gully Bull @You know damn well and everyone else who posts here... what are your thoughts on HIT and Mentzers philosophies?
Most of my training after my beginner phase of 5x5 has been high volume. I'm trying to switch it up starting tomorrow, with High Intensity Training..but the whole one working set to failure thing isn't making sense to me..any of y'all experienced growth doing this?
And let me know the program that brought you the most g

I’m not familiar with those by name. I’ll have to read up and circle back with thoughts. PHAT (or a variation) is the program that I used to make the most gains.

Was never a fan of the idea of HIT, Mike Mentzer, Doggcrapp, etc. These methods might work if executed perfectly (and for hypertrophy), but single sets to failure won't work well for strength gains.

Two programs have given me the most gains:

1) For strength - The Bulgarian Method for Powerlifting (i.e. Squat Everyday)

2) For hypertrophy - nSuns 531 LP (6-day variants)

Also used PHAT extensively. Base program doesn't have enough high intensity (70%+ 1RM) barbell work to illicit continued strength gains. Whenever I run it I have to add extra accessories and more barbell sets.

Not sure why the :mjlol: was dropped, but as a skinny motherfukker myself, whenever I do high volume (with or without high frequency), my weight is more likely to increase then it is to decrease. :yeshrug: As long as I'm not overreaching into the point where my appetite decreases, it works.

I think he'll be fine as long as he hits his macros. :ehh:

Can’t say I’ve ever run a program where it was only one set to failure. Prior to corona I was running German volume training or PPL and adding extra sets or movements depending on how I was feeling at the time. I set saw a bunch of gains with this method but I had all day to recover and work out tho

Everyone says their diet is good but unless you're already where you want to be, it could be better (more food, more carbs/fats/protein, more micronutrients, etc).

Also, all of this talk about programs is quite useless unless you're already at a point to where your experience under the bar can support it.

For example, the Bulgarian Method for PL should not be ran by someone who doesn't know how to autoregulate and whose form on the squat isn't A-1. This makes it only appropriate for late intermediates and advanced lifters.

nSuns requires a lot of time, especially once your TMs aren't bytch weights. All them cats online talmbout finishing their T1/T2 in 30 minutes are scrubs (noobs) who would make progress showing up to the gym and jerking off in the locker rooms (:dame:). It's easy to superset the compounds when you're only squatting or benching 200 pounds. :comeon: If you can't dedicate at least two hours to lifting (not exercising, just lifting) a day for 5-6 days a week, nSuns is prolly not the move.

Looks like ass. :scust: Wouldn't have my worst enemy in the gym running that. :mjlol:

Criticisms:
  • No weight/% of 1RM/RPE was listed. And what is failure? They taking these sets to technical/form failure or muscuar failure?
  • Brb all sets taken to failure. Easy way to end up in Snap City, regardless of which type is used.
  • Brb no rest periods given.
  • No progression system given.
  • Push/pull ratio is off.
  • Brb no actual leg day, just 2 working sets of squats.
  • Routine is actually low frequency and low volume.
  • Serious lack of barbell movements.

This nikka just asked about programs, got listed some, then gonna ask for our blessing on some bullshyt program he had waiting in the cut. Next time just post that shyt so we can critique it and be done. :beli:

Hate when nikkas ask me some gym shyt, I point them in a direction, and then they still wanna be on their own bullshyt, like the fukk you asking me for? Go head and spin your wheels (or eat) and come back and let us know how it worked. :hubie:

:whoo: you gone be sore
My understanding was hiit was low weight high reps, so you won't see gains you'll get tone more muscle endurance

Nah big bro, this is HIT, not HIIT.

HIT is about using a small number of working sets (1-3), smaller exercise selection, shorter workouts, and usually involves taking the top set to failure. The gains from a hypertrophy perspective are legit (if it's ran properly) but shytty for strength gains compared to other training modalities.
