So last week I learned a couple of lessons that I probably should have already known:
1. Warm ups really help
So for the last few weeks I'd been stalling on my military press. I was trying to hit 145 lbs, five sets of three. Normally I'd just start at 145 and see where it took me, but I decided for some reason to warm up first. So I did three reps with the empty bar, then three reps with 25 lb plates. And when I went for 145, I kind of breezed through it. I don't know if I want to attribute it only to warming up first, but I feel like it really helped a lot.
2. Mind over matter
So on Saturday I was about to start my push ups (five sets until I tire). On my first set, I hit 30, so I decided to go for 100 total. On my second and third sets I did 20, and on my fourth and five sets I hit 15. My shoulders were burning and crying out

, but the rush I got from hitting my goal was all worth it.
Of course my shoulders were

for the dips later, but at that point I didn't care. I just didn't think I could do it, but I did
