Honestly, I don't think it's a case of people not knowing their lane. It's the fact that on occasion, people can score OUTSIDE of their lane. But the whole concept of dating is littered with hypocrisy and double standards and the like.

For every couple you may see that "match up" status/looks-wise, etc. you see another one where you're like " how did he/she land that? What the fukk does he/she see in him?" and so on. OP is right in the sense that some dating issues in general can be solved if people knew what they could realistically expect to land, meaning they knew what they deserved/should be looking for based on what THEY bring to the table and what REALLY matters to them.

I'm in LA too.. man its a ton of dudes and females struggling out here. Been to pretty much every major city as well- its the same sh*t as well. A nice percentage are doing well but even some of the people that appear to be caking are just living off loans and fighting to keep up with all the payments.

It just depends. This is common sense but sometimes u never know what's gonna happen. I do think some blks are less willing to settle b/c they are trying to fukk/date their way to higher self-esteem.

I would say go for what u know. Date not necessarily in ur lane b/c that seems condescending, but date who gives a damn about u. I see some people giving their all to people who don't give a damn about them. But they with em for the wrong reasons. This doesn't mean ur soulmate has to be a bougawuff b/c I hate the idea that only unattractive people are "good" people. But if u find urself alone or constantly getting played it might be time to date closer to who u or what u are.
