Isn't there a set of encyclopedias that detail every war/conflict that occurred on the globe over the last millennia or so?

Goes back to about 4,000 - 5,000 BCE.

On the contrary, Atheism in this country is on the raise

This is entirely false. What is happening is that as religious observation lags, so does atheism.

The reason for this is that atheism is a 'revolt' against religion, but, as religious belief lags, so does the need for a 'revolution' against it.

Also, atheism 're-defined' itself to include those who were 'on-the-fence' about the whole thing. In-short, agnostics.

This was a great PR strategy, but ultimately failed since it just artificially swelled the numbers temporarily.

I think it's easier to align with people via religion without really having to get to know them.

Religion has become a political position in this country. Once something is politicized, it breeds zealots and infiltrated every aspect of life these days.

Religion has ALWAYS been a political position in this country from the very beginning since the Government spent no time attempting to engender social coherence among the disparate groups of immigrants that settled here. This is not necessarily a bad thing as we have seen the antithesis of religious belief also breeds 'zealots' and 'infiltrates every aspect of life' to an even greater degree of detrimental effects to the population, but it seems that no one wishes to discuss that.

you think none of those rappers "grew up in church" :mjlol:

Nope. Most of them grew up 'around' Church. It's symptomatic of current ideological/sociological shifts that have been in-effect since the 70's.

It's been cool to make fun of people who go to Church ever since I can remember.

It isn't. People "believe in God", but don't read or follow the Bible at all.

It isn't necessary to 'read/follow the Bible' to believe in 'G-d'. Never has been.

People believed it before the text was even written.

Also, belief in 'G-d' is not necessary for religion. Ask a Buddhist what they believe.
