It’s possible that it could be like “Final Fantasy” - self contained stories and not directly related to the next. I’d rather have that than direct sequels. I’m good on where they left it.That's stupid.

I gotcha, maybe a DLC can address this? I think they can keep the spirit of this project by not having to constrain themselves to a particular narrative. They can be more creative in their story telling that way. In any event, Im down for whatever they do next.If they don't make a sequel it's fine but....
We know next to nothing about the "real world" in this game, who the Writers are, what their beef is with the Painters, or what's going on anywhere else in the world. Renoir also said he and Aline painted "hundreds of canvasses" so who knows what the hell is going on in any of those?
So I'd like a sequel or prequel. Or both.
Fred.
Yup.Ain't it crazy how the devs who focus on making a good game that they'd want to play always seem to make instant classics to game of the year type games vs the devs recycling shyt and focused on making a profit
The former type games end up making more money and outselling the latter these days. Hope the trend continues and we see more AAA developers give a fukk and shareholders switch strategies from tryna nickel and dime players to actually making great experiences again
I need to try Avowed. Playing some Doom atm. You'd probably enjoy KCD2Yup.
Recently the games that set out with a vision and laser focus on that as opposed to trying to be everything for everyone, have been the games that have been most successful.
They end up costing a lot less to produce as well so they don’t need 30 million sales to be successful.
Games have been failing when they set out to tic a bunch of boxes just for the sake of saying they did.
My two favorite games this year Avowed and E33 took the WRPG/JRPG formula and just focused on making it as fun and as engaging as possible without trying to do too much or be everything to everybody. Really looking forward to more games that fit in this pocket. I’ll take a couple of these over a GTA any day![]()
Avowed is like the total opposite of KCD2.I need to try Avowed. Playing some Doom atm. You'd probably enjoy KCD2
From what I've heard, the combat is really fun, and the story stuff was a mixed bag. I'll find out myself eventually though since it's on gamepass.Avowed is like the total opposite of KCD2.
Whereas KCD2 set out to be an extremely detailed simulation, avowed didn’t even attempt any of that stuff.
Gameplay feels amazing. Cool lore and graphics. compelling story choices.
All done REALLY well. Game was fun from beginning to end even though it didn’t have the simulation stuff people might expect from the genre.
make a great game and a lot of narratives suddenly vanishAin't it crazy how the devs who focus on making a good game that they'd want to play always seem to make instant classics to game of the year type games vs the devs recycling shyt and focused on making a profit
