In the midst of getting congratulations for my new job from my boys, quite a few of them have said "With the amount of money you're gonna be earning, you can literally have any girl you want" and it's got me feeling a little disenchanted. How can I honestly put stock in the women I meet if the people around me think I'm only getting them because I'm earning more money than most 21 year olds?

Yeah, I'm at HSBC as a Graduate Analyst. I'm gonna be in the financial data and compliance department but there's analyst roles for literally every department.
I'd definitely say analyst roles are the way to go since the chain of command is smaller so it's easier to move up in seniority and salary. It's completely feasible to be on six figures within 5 years by making the right moves.

They haven't even given me my job description yet 'cause they agent decided what hiring manager I'm gonna be working for yet. I don't start for another 3 weeks though so I'm not sweating it yet.
The interview was cool. The majority of it was them asking about my CV and them asking about my career aspirations (I've got project management experience and qualifications so they wanted to know if I would want to do that within the company). They then quizzed me about the company and the current project that I am going to be a part of. Finally, they ended off the interview by asking me about my personality and how we'll do I think I can adapt and blend into the company's ethos. Apparently, all the big banks are big on hiring "company people" because they tend to want to keep people in the company as long as possible, especially if they've come in as a graduate.
All in all, I'd say the only difficult thing is the personal questions and making sure that you're not blagging your answers. They'll even ask things like "Is this person you're portraying to us right now the real you?" to throw you off to see how genuine you are.
