yea the key was getting desensitized to rejection and learning not to overthink the engagement
these we chat dudes need to keep at it and refine their skills / open up the repetoire. no other way to go about it
This gem right here is so important in many areas of life. We oftentimes take interactions too serious and it leads to anxiety and underachieving.

It's an entirely different and disconnected form of socialization. Creates a lot of isolation and distance, even from the people you are around every day, like in middle school or high school.

Around 1998, I was 12/13, and I had little 7th grade girlfriends, a lot of that was just looks, I didn't have a lot of game or even confidence, or extroversion at that age. Still am pretty reserved in a lot of social situations but it's something I can turn on whenever I want. It wasn't like a walked up to them and said some smooth shyt, and then we were "going out". But I did talk to girls, that was NORMAL back then. Girls you had class with hooked you up with their friends. You said whats up with Tiffany? They said ohh she thinks you are fine. We walked the mall, we walked Six Flags. We on dates to the movies. I had girls come up to me, and I'd just be about as smooth as a 7th grader could be, which is not that smooth, but it's interaction.

These kids are socialized to resent and mistrust each other through social media, before they have even kissed a girl, kissed a guy. It's something that should be addressed by all politicians and all levels of government.

Different times. They rather pay streamers or other ppl to approach instead of living life themselves.

Learning “game” from strangers without having experienced for themselves.

Yup

One time a friend was visiting me and after he arrived i was asking if hed be down to go out to a bar or sumn. He said nah mentioning how he needed to cut his hair

I asked him, “in the trip you took here, on the subway, while walking etc…how many faces can you honestly say you remember?” He said like two people maybe.

So out of 100s of people, only two people could he remember. the same way he isnt watching/noticing others…nobody is checkin for him. So who cares if your hair isnt done…thats some female shyt lol.

People think way too much about ppls perceptions instead of just living life.

Remember that clip of those 9 year old boys basically they saying they hate women that one of those red pill streamer dudes.

Social media influencers are damn near like drug dealers in their own community with no real consequences for their actions.

The blame is almost entirely with the industries that created those products. They knew and know what they were doing. We didn't know. The public didn't know how harmful it was and could be.

For a long time, like 10 years ago, I thought people were just dumb, but it's like calling people dumb for smoking cigarettes in 1950, or whatever. And I also didn't really understand the dynamics, I saw people being shallow and dumb, but not the mechanics behind it. And I saw that they were validated by it. T

We were told it was ok, and not just that it was ok, but that it would democratcize communication, it would eradicate bad ideas, it would help progress across the world. It would be a salvation for our society. It was near evangelical.

This was the Obama era of technocratic expertise. To me, now, all that sounds insane, and laughable, but I remember that time, and I wasn't a evangelical about any of it, I remember the feeling of new IPhones, and Ipads, and Facebook, and IG. Not just the tech, but the mood in major urban/metro parts of the country.

this still ignores the cultural problem we have. The Culture gap is what separates entertainment to an algorithm telling you who you are. It's like the arguments back in the day of Rap Music or Video Games. I listened to the most demonic rap but I did not let it define who I am because I had cultural elements installed in me as a child of who I am culturally and our standards, now when the same child/teen lacks that instillation and is being raised by a TV or phone the results are not the same.

I agree
If you dont mind me asking, what kinda neighborhood did you grow up in? Inner city? Rural? Suburban?

Testing out a theory my friend has

He thinks the closer to the inner city you are at a young age, the more likely you are to actually come across some of the fukkery you hear of in music or TV and apply what you hear versus if you live in a safer environment without criminals, guns, drugs and general debauchery youre less likelydue to inaccessibility

I grew up in a Black Suburb of a Major City. Culture is installed in the home because there were suburbs of middle to upper middle class black people whose kids were still joining gangs. "We" often think just buying a big house, buying food, and sending kids to school = parenting.

The Families who dominate tend to treat the home as a training camp on how to dominate others and not just a place you sleep when you not at school lol.

The avg person is taught consumption = success which is why our Debt loads are so insane and brains get fried from consumption. There is a reason Mark Zuck or one of these dudes who run a major SM platform said they dont let their kids use it lol these people are being groomed to dominate the larger "slave" population. Not even on no spooky shyt, but just understanding this world is a competition thus to protect what I built I must groom my children to be able to compete and maintain what I have (this tends to be how old money + eventual old money worked compared to the "new money" that vanishes due to kids being raised spoiled to just trick off the wealth). If your kids aren't cut out to be the best of the best then you create the guardrails to maintain what you built. There is reason them Nepo babies running the game now and the only people who hate Nepo babies are the people who's parents didnt put them in position.

By the time parents and kids get home From school and work
It’s 5pm

The free time left parents are also doom scrolling after dinner
Everyone is addicted to the social media

main reason I`m not married with kids in this country is because most women dont get it. Every chick you talk to mainly focused on buying clothes and taking pics for babies lol. Then you have to think if you die, or the high risk divorce your kids are fukking cooked.

Exposure therapy works, even if it's going somewhere nobody knows you and asking random people for the time or directions, adding in opinions, statements or even compliments.

If you put consistent energy into something there will be a result, no energy means nothing will change.
