training for this 5K is going well...down to averaging 9:39 min/mile..i got one more week..see if i can get between 9:30 and 9:35 min/mile...the goal was to get under 10 min/mile and to try to do this under 30 mins...ran into a slight wall last week with my knees aching and flaring up..so did other forms of non impact cardio as a substitute...definitely was the thing to do..feelin good..cant wait to drink liquor again when im done with this :russ:

Had food poisoning this week and just lifted for the first time. Pretty weak :mjcry:

Had this shyt one time last winter. Came home from the gym in the evening and cooked me up some chicken covered in bacon & a big salad. Chickens consistency was kinda off and it tasted a bit strange but I was like "whatever" and ate it anyway. Big mistake. After like half an hour my stomach started goin crazy, and soon I started shytting liquid till 5am in the morning :dead:
In between the shytting I was sitting on my bed tryna watch tv feeling sick af, but it was like 10 minutes between the shytting sessions so I gave it up.

After eating healthy all week I decided to eat some fried chicken sausages with a plate of fries just to get rid of a food headache :francis:


Good news is that the headache is gone... Bad news... Well I think we all know what that is :sadcam:


Legs to stiff to do any sprints or biking so I guess imma have to do some battle ropes mixed in with some low weight high rep conditioning :mjcry:

Makes me sad when 30 something brothers like myself will say things like "oh you still on that gym stuff?" as they rattle off the reasons and excuses why they don't squat/deadlift heavy anymore or run, lift, go to the gym, eat reasonably decent etc.

Ive been getting it a lot from relatives and friends lately, almost in a feeling guilty/shaming/jealous manner. I just shrug it off because I know who I am and my motivations BUT


It's just sad tho. the gym life for me has zilch to do with vanity. I'm really not trying to tackle the myriad of lifestyle lead health problems I've seen some of my OG's have to battle.

A lot of people do it to themselves. I remember there were these 2 dudes at my gym.... all they did was bench and deadlift. They put up big numbers in a bad way. I don't see them anymore as I assume they blew out some discs. They would be the type to say "nah that shyt is no good it will hurt you bro" as if they knew what they were doing in the first place...........

fukk that though, lifting is def at least partially about vanity too. I put up respectable numbers and do really #EnjoyTheProcess..... but its nice to enjoy looking in the mirror :smugfavre:
