As long as you're going to failure/getting close to failure and are getting a good squeeze, machines can get you results

Any reason you're not doing free weights though?
No specific reason but I’m always solo when I workout so I’ve just always been inclined to use the machines. Other than curls, power cleans and squats, any free weight exercises that you’d suggest?

Question for those who have lost a considerable amount of weight (45+) and kept it off for 1+ years

What is the accepted maximum amount of weight one can lose healthily over time?

I've heard ~2lbs is what you can lose consistently over a decent period of time. I've also heard 1% of your body weight is the upper limit. Granted, some weeks you won't lose, and some you'll lose more than regular.

Also, imagine keeping it off essentially entailed still doing what you did to lose weight even after you lost the weight e.g. still working out and eating less/at maintenance.

Ghost pre-workout is so hit and miss. Some days it hits the spot and some days it feels like someone is trying to pull a demon out of my chest

Probably going back to C4 after this jar runs out. Way more consistent

Everybody is different man I lost overall close to a 100 pounds in one year

But I constantly went through stages where I put back on weight so it’s a constant battle


As cliche as it sounds it’s a life change


I say don’t bother thinking about losing weight or keeping off

Stick to your routine and lifestyle changes and it will work itself out

Everybody is different man I lost overall close to a 100 pounds in one year

But I constantly went through stages where I put back on weight so it’s a constant battle

Have you kept off that 100 lost or at least most of it (75%+)?

You’re about the routine part. When I was out in Europe last summer and between all the biking I did in Amsterdam and the walking in London and Paris I dropped a few lbs. Diet didn’t change too much.

I remember I asked my Airbnb host about the distance to Jardin du Luxembourg.

She said “oh, it’s not too far of a walk. Like 20 mins.”

Meanwhile, in the US. A 20 min walk is seen as far.

Eventually it gets repetitive because your body pretty much shuts down weight loss...

It then becomes body recomp at that point...
