That gym I posted pictures of a few weeks back that I was excited to join....

....man, so disappointed. The pieces are all there, but the gym creeped me out. I don't need any fancy shyt, but the equipment was so run down and dirty I felt like it was a MRSA breeding ground.:scust:

All those pictures were not from 1 gym either, it was 2 locations. So the amount of equipment wasn't as much as they made it seem.

Locker room smelled like pee:scust:

The ONLY thing I liked about it was there were 4 power racks, 2 of them having deadlift platforms. Plus another standalone deadlift platform. Plus heavy ass motherfukking dumbells. I was only gonna deadlift once every 2 weeks anyway, so :patrice:

That would be OK I guess, but it also cost $50/month (website said 40). It was also down the worst traffic street in the city, making my commute approach 25 minutes during the day.

fukk THAT.

Joined the YMCA instead. $50 for both me and my wife, a clean ass steam room and sauna :takedat:, swimming pool, hot tub, basketball courts, yoga classes every day :blessed:

Only 1 full power rack and the safety bars don't quite go below the knee for proper rack pulls, but fukk it I can still go knee height. Also have a hex bar for the first time so I will only be doing hex bar deadlifts now, which I will feel confident doing weekly:win:

Tons of equipment are kind of overrated

Only equipment this guy has is a cage with low and high row pulleys, a barbel + plates and some dumbbells in his garage, and hes a pretty well known, multi-comp winning natural bodybuilder

U dont need a ton of specialized equipment or a complex routine to build a good physique. Just a balanced comprehensive routine hitting all the main body parts and mastery of your diet :feedme:

just did some measurements for the first time in years

thought I was 6'0 and change but I'm more 5'11 on the borderline of 6. Got a 6'4 wingspan, long legs and short torso. Explains why i progress faster on DLs than other stuff.

I'm currently stuck in a very awkward/uncomfortable/stressful living situation which has the unintended side effect of me not eating as much (i have no appetite when stressed, Im a boredom eater). I had wanted to bulk till I hit 170 then go on a deep cut, but I'm kind of forced into an early cutting phase by my poor eating. I'm drinking 4-5 protein shakes per day now just to make sure I at least hit that one macro goal

The good thing about being physically active is when life gets in the way and eating goes off the rails it can be a win/win. If you are overreating you get the benefit of building strength and muscle along with becomming a fat ass. If you are undereating you get the benefit of retaining muscle mass and strength and getting shredded up.

Hopefully your situation gets better. I hate it when I have those moments cuz I end up having no appetite at all. Giving me no energy at the gym when I'm trying to lift heavy.

Stay up bruh...
