I don't understand how dudes have gym memberships for a long time and all they do is hoop but don't hit the weights.

Been putting high TDEE to the test for fatloss after reading testimonials over the years.

Put in little over 150 miles last 30 days. Goal was much higher, but I did too much too soon and knee soreness crept in. Had to dramatically slow down to let knee get acclimated. :heh:

Anyway, weight down 8 lbs. Falls in line with rate of loss noted by others online. Carbs have consistently been north of 300g. Calories hovered around 2400. Mostly low fat. Nothing suffered in the gym yet. Sleeping like a baby. Shaping up to be my favorite fat loss approach.

you biking or running?

i'm trying to find a way to get my walks back in...seems simple as all shyt, but when i was walking ~10 miles per week, that seemed to really help the weight come off. an easy extra 450 calories burned each time i'd walk the lake

The bolded. 150 miles in 30 days would be brutal on my knees if I was running.

Diet will be the death of me. Need to tighten up for my B day in Oct as I want to take a trip to Egypt then, and somewhere with a beach next yr in Spring/Summer (maybe Tanzania).

Cosign this to the T.

I got my sister graduation at the end of May.

Couple functions over the summer.

SA at the end of summer and Nigeria in December.

Nigeria is show out time so I can’t be slacking.

You do 5 miles a day? Treadmill or outdoor (I’m assuming treadmill since you know the speed). How long does that take? Like an hour forty?

Wanted to average 9 miles/day (3hrs, around 20k steps), but my one knee was like :whoa: after the first week. So what ended up happening was a bunch of scattered high mileage days that averaged out to 5 miles/day. :heh:

Tolerate the mileage much better now. Next month will be interesting.

Yes, treadmill. I bought a walking treadmill for home use and the convenience is what really makes the protocol possible and seamless. I watch TV on it. Plays games on it. Browse the web on it. Use it for 10mins after eating to improve digestion (tip from Stan Efferding). Love watching sports while walking. Time flies.

I like outside walks, but it's currently too cold to be enjoyable.

Ok, this makes sense. I was like how the fukk would you put 3 hours in on a treadmill at the gym :damn:

But yea, just walking instead of sitting at home during those activities is a good look. I was thinking of getting a spin bike or even dropping the dough on a peloton bike for the same reason, you may have reignited my interest in doing so.

My first go at this was with a cheap folding recumbent bike. I mimicked this setup from an Amazon review

(minus the yoga block)

...which was fine for awhile, but the seat was uncomfortable after an hour and it was really suited for people 5'6 and under. Also impacted gym performance no matter how light I peddled. Ended up returning. If I had more room at the time, I woulda gone regular recumbent and rig a TV/Monitor on it like this guy:

:skip::dead:

Thought about a spin bike too, but again I needed something I could be on comfortably for hours. Finally decided to stop fukking around and copped a walking treadmill. Well worth it.
