couldn't really do my deadlift sets, even tried to foam roller for the first time, don't know if I was even doing it right
It completely killed my mood, guess a day wasted at the gym

This. I do sumo squats for volume vs. load or goblet squats, but to compensate I leg press heavy to overload the quadsI stopped doing regular heavy back squats a couple years ago. I maxed out at 335 for reps and I was like "fukk this". I wasn't trying to be a powerlifter and I wanted to get leaner overall. my joints have thanked me ever since.
Now i'm strictly heavy goblet squats...

No real reason to do squats and deads in the same session. Especially not at upper end weight.
Not even trying to be a jerk but sometimes the programming makes no sense. That ain’t the movements fault.
if somehow I do end up doing squats and dead’s in the same workout it’s normally variations.
back squat/stiff legged
front squat/kb-dB deadlift
Goblet squat/deadlift
sumo deadlift/front squat
but ain’t no way in hell am I going to be doing heavy back squats and deadlifts unless I was doing a CrossFit total.
but unless a person has a legitimate health concern or affliction to weight training I don’t see why they wouldn’t do some type of variation of the dead or squat.
hit 670 cals yesterday and that was halfassing since my legs were sore from lifting the day before

And I'm going to this squat seminar this weekend, trainer I know gonna try and make me hit PR's

But I'm starting to lean out now
