Did back squats yesterday for my class for the first time in 8-9 months and this morning mi quads are like :flabbynsick:


Don't want to but I gotta foam roll and cardio tonight :bryan:

I must of cooled down after stretching and warming up b4 starting my heavy squats cuz my back felt super tight :francis:

couldn't really do my deadlift sets, even tried to foam roller for the first time, don't know if I was even doing it right

It completely killed my mood, guess a day wasted at the gym

I stopped doing regular heavy back squats a couple years ago. I maxed out at 335 for reps and I was like "fukk this". I wasn't trying to be a powerlifter and I wanted to get leaner overall. my joints have thanked me ever since.

Now i'm strictly heavy goblet squats...

I stopped doing regular heavy back squats a couple years ago. I maxed out at 335 for reps and I was like "fukk this". I wasn't trying to be a powerlifter and I wanted to get leaner overall. my joints have thanked me ever since.

Now i'm strictly heavy goblet squats...
This. I do sumo squats for volume vs. load or goblet squats, but to compensate I leg press heavy to overload the quads

Let’s be reality:

No real reason to do squats and deads in the same session. Especially not at upper end weight.

Not even trying to be a jerk but sometimes the programming makes no sense. That ain’t the movements fault.

if somehow I do end up doing squats and dead’s in the same workout it’s normally variations.

back squat/stiff legged

front squat/kb-dB deadlift

Goblet squat/deadlift

sumo deadlift/front squat

but ain’t no way in hell am I going to be doing heavy back squats and deadlifts unless I was doing a CrossFit total.

but unless a person has a legitimate health concern or affliction to weight training I don’t see why they wouldn’t do some type of variation of the dead or squat.


Let’s be reality:

No doubt and when I dead I mean conventional deads. Other variations even trap bar are good secondary elements but heavy squats and heavy conventionals are just asking for the trouble

Old trainer finally hit me back, can’t train right now but she’s gonna hook me up with a couple routines

The boot camp spot is still :fire: hit 670 cals yesterday and that was halfassing since my legs were sore from lifting the day before


Going to check out this local gym, not as convenient as 24 but a smaller outpost with fewer members and more functional equipment as well as rowers and airbikes :blessed:

Quads still burning:noah:Just now realized I did hella quad volume on that day:heh: And I'm going to this squat seminar this weekend, trainer I know gonna try and make me hit PR's:heh::flabbynsick:




Might have to ignore my macros for the next couple of days, going to need the energy:mjpls: But I'm starting to lean out now:wow::francis::mjcry:

A fleeting childhood
Going to the gym today for legs.. saw a thread on rest times in between. Sets.. gonna see how much a difference it make as I’ve been resting for 20 seconds on anything under 80%of 1RM.
