Should I get an Apple Watch or a Fitbit for step and calories burnt tracker?
Neither are accurate for calories. You trying to track cals burned the whole day or during workouts? If during workouts, get a polar or garmin watch with chest strap, way more accurate. If you do get a watch for all day tracking, just know you’re dealing with a 30-40% margin for accuracy. Either would be fine for tracking steps though, although the Apple Watch is too expensive just to use as a step tracker, so ideally you’d want to use all the other iOS/Apple ecosystem services

Strictly for calories Fitbit. Unless you plan on using all Apple Watch features (txt, email, making calls) it be a waste . Hell if you don’t have an iPhone it’d be a waste imo.

Fitbit is pretty straight forward...counts calories , you can get txt notifications & change music .

are you gonna use it for running?

take a look at a Garmin Forerunner 245. Solid GPS watch and it will hold you down for a long time. And it tracks other activities (gym, swimming, bike, walking) but it’s a staple for runners. Garmin Connect app keeps your data in check once you sync automatically and you can push the data to Apple Health, Strava, etc.

Looking for something all day because I feel like I burn a lot of calories at my job but everything’s a guessimation at best. I have an iPhone but I don’t really text or call anyone like that. So I’ll look into the Fitbit and Garmin thanks pals ^_^

Yo, the news just reported nooses hung at the lake and framed it as a hate crime. I know the tree they’re talking about and it’s exercise/suspension equipment, I’ve seen the guy using it with clients. the reporter even said they spoke with the person who hung it and he said it’s exercise equipment, the mayor and police were like some of it was, but not all of it! :troll:

:dead:

I get we're in charged times, but I’m dead at them straight denying the facts and running a hate crime story instead lol

This pic I think I took at the beginning of May. (I've bulked up much more since then) *

I lurk here but never post. Im in decent shape, got a 6 pack, V Line, good balanced look.... I transformed my diet in Novermever
Breakfast
(Oats, eggs, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, granola, banana and raisins all mixed into one thing, sometimes I add Sorghum to this mix to add more fiber.)

I drink Rooibos (South African) tea with ginger and then 100% Cocoa powder mixed with warm water

Eat the above meal
Then have a sweet fruit (orange or apple) an hour before training.

My training is 3-5KM cardio /intense jog, mantinaing proper running Form and posture (I'm extremely fit in this department so it's not a big deal)

Then I do 100m (more like 70-80m) sprints (by far the hardest and most taxing part of my training) Everyday!

I then rest for 30-45 min before going to park the park to do 2 hours of calisthenics, full body... Starting with core/abs, put bricks in backpack and do squats, I have 12kg dumbells so I use those, pull ups, chin ups and other pistol squats Etc etc ALL that calisthenics stuff FULL BODY..

That morning meal I don't eat it entirely, I only eat about 30% of it to give me energy for the training, AFTER training I finish the meal. I'm pretty full for the whole day can supplement with smoothies (avocado, banana, orange, apple etc in a blender)

Then I have my last meal at 18:00h, no later.

I trained my body to sleep at 8pm, for the most part I naturally pass out before 9pm and without an alarm my body wakes up around 4am-5am the latest....

Then I repeat the whole cycle

Wake up, tea (no sugar), cocoa powder, meal, fruit 30min later
Run, sprints, train, finish the rest of meal, smoothie or any other supplement meal, last meal at 6pm, pass out before 9pm wake up 4-5am... Reapet everyday since November (2019)

I quit eating sugar, processed food, fried food, salt, I quit smoking and drinking (which was killing me) and I was never a fan of "fast food" to begin with.

It's my been my observation that the transformation of my body was not purely based on gym, the biggest change occurred when I stcuk to a strict dietary discipline, quit eating garbage, changed my sleeping patterns etc etc it was a culmination of ALL these things... Also as far as keeping a low body percentage goes, the most important thing that I have observed that has kept me naturally "lean" is SPRINTS.. Real sprints, they never ever EVER get easy, even though I do them damn near everyday.

Since the gym closed I've relied even more on Calostehics... I have a picture of me from 2 months when I was super lean and weak, I look great but I'm weak/lean... Right now I've increased my meals from 2 to 3 meals a days and have bulked up a lot.

Im not into the whole gym "lean" "bulk" tropes, I train primarily to feel good/health and look good. I don't gym purely for muscle gains, so my perspective is not about which training regiment gave me the most "gains"...

I do a lot of other random exercises that make me mobile, flexible, I force my girl to give me a deep tissue massage (by literally standing on my back, hamstring, glutes etc I have observed that this is by far the best way to help speed up recovery and prevent muscle tension and deal with muscle scar tissue... You just feel great when you wake up the next day.

Lastly I have one question.

I'd say a month and a half ago I twister my ankle doing sprints... Obviously I didn't stop training /running... However now everytime I run and do sprints I can barely walk the next day... Is there a way to do cardio (but protect and give a sprained ankle time to heal)... Training without doing any cardio is inconceivable to me, any suggestions will help.

Peace

Probably just got to let it heal. Without knowing you level of pain, walking lunges might be a substitute that puts you somewhere between the running and sprints.

You are going to be limited with no equipment and with it being a lower body injury.

Im 28 (29 in Sept)... I don't think I can ever afford to regress ever again.

Based on my regiment, is there anything you would suggest I add to my routine (stretching... I don't stretch enough, especially post work stretches, for injury prevention)

Or better put, what are some of the biggest things that transformed your phsysique?.. As I sated, strict sleeping pattern and quitting shyt food and eating healthy played as big of a part as anything else.

What have you discovered that you weren't previously doing... For me it's the SPRINTS as far being "lean" /low body fat percentage.

I mean you got to let it heal. I don’t think the time it takes to heal a twisted ankle is going to cause you to regress. The longer you delay that then the longer you will be getting less than optimal work outs. So I’m not saying don’t train but I would imagine the running needs to halt until the ankle is better. Seems like you have a fair amount of time so take some good walks if your ankle allows.

I don’t really “stretch”. I usually try to go through a progression of warm-ups that get my core temp up, gets the muscles I’m focusing on activated and let’s me know how I’m feeling for what I have planned that day for training.

On the last question there are a ton of things. I’ve really only been training 10 years or so and didn’t start until was 32ish so I wasn’t doing anything from the majority of those first 32 years. You mentioned a good part of it which nutrition and sleep. I started running first and lost a good amount of weight but wanted to add muscle so those have been the two primary transformation points within that. Those activities combined with changes to nutrition to support them were/are the biggest factors. That’s said, I’m still a work in progress so I’m always looking to learn a little more about nutrition and training.

Other than that it’s just consistency. Motivation kind of comes and goes but the more consistent you can be with the plan the better.

Have you supplemented the natural drop in testosterone I'll probably start tracking my testosterone levels after 35 and asses the "damage" at 40.

I can't imagine starting training at 32 though... That must've felt like complete and utter death.

I was in shape my whole life, in super shape at 22yrs old, then around 25-27 I hit a bad rut and regressed terribly, mixed in with smoking and drinking, depression etc .. I tried to "break" that cycle twice, but last November is when I went cold turkey on everything and started on this path, it was HELL.. Working my core when it had no strength, training for 2 months for the most incremental gains.

I remember last year when I was being lazy but trying to break the cycle, my little brother had some shyt called "D Bol"... I took that shyt for a week when I was jogging twice a day... It made me feel so energetic and charged, I got scared and never touched any PED's again coz I could FEEL them working.. shyt was unnervingly "good"

I don't know how you STARTED at 32..damn, that's crazy.

Have you posted pics here before and also how much damage has conrana caused your overall physique?

I haven’t heard of a natural drop-in test product. Most of the over counter stuff in the USA doesn’t do much to my understanding.
It wasn’t fun but I was north of probably 260 pounds at 5’9ish so something had to be done. I knew I was going to be headed down a path and need to do something. No photos but that’s not really my thing in general and I’m not like some super transformation case from an aesthetics perspective. I’ve got a thread below with a little background and my workout logs.

Corona has helped. I’ve been dropping weight and getting more refocused. I had been spinning wheels for far to long so it’s been like a hard reset.
