When you do your workouts do you just try to increase the total number you can do or do you try to hit a specific number as fast as possible, what does progression look like?I was considering working in with a couple dudes I see doing calisthenics in the city but it just seems like too much going on. Oh well, as long as there is a place to do pull-ups, dips and pushups i don't need any of the extra shyt
Before I would always try to get higher numbers. In my mind nothing else really mattered besides hitting your numbers one week and getting them higher within two weeks. It wasnt really sustainable. When you do your workouts do you just try to increase the total number you can do or do you try to hit a specific number as fast as possible, what does progression look like?
Yeah when I do dips and pullups I aim for 10 reps then add 5 lbs and start again. Got tired of doing a bunch of reps/sets.Before I would always try to get higher numbers. I switched to an approach where If it felt like I was hitting a plateau I would slow down and see if its technique or strength issue. Cut down my total reps for the day and shoehorn a harder variation into the program for a bit. When I felt like I wasn't making progress with pull-ups I did more negatives and more scapula pull-ups but lowered the number of pull-ups I was doing for 3×6 to 3×4 with as much control as possible.
I've just been trying different stuff.
I feel like the volume approach is not going to be sustainable on this cut so im leaning towards trying some weighted stuff.
Breh in retrospect it is incredibly unusual how I would try to crank out 70 dips after having already done pushups and rows. My body already told me ain't no way that's happening on this cutYeah when I do dips and pullups I aim for 10 reps then add 5 lbs and start again. Got tired of doing a bunch of reps/sets.
Why switch routines instead of decreasing reps or increasing rest time?Still trying to figure out how to fine tune my programing. I might have to switch to splits instead of full body. I didn't like how I didn't have anything left in the tank for legs today
