Yesterday was awful, front squats were trash, incline bench was trash (realize the app had me doing 25 lbs more than I should have:francis::mjgrin:)


I guess not having any AC had a breh :flabbynsick:

So do I squat 42.5% for all 5 sets? Or I increase every set?


You increase the weight based on the calculations (based on your 1rep max):


Monday

ex. squat 225 1 RM
5x 95.625 (42.5%)
5x 123.75 (55%)
5x 151.875 (67.5%)
5x 180 (80%)
5x 208.125 (92.5%)

It's Linear Progression, so it's all based on your current 1 rep max and the calcuations should have you increasing over time.

I think my girl is trying to sabotage my progress. She's always bringing in food that would entice me and just leaving the shyt in the fridge or the cabinet :martin:

My parents used to do the same thing :russ:

Come home with snack cakes like “I thought you would like this” knowing good and well that I never eat that stuff and I’m trying to be healthy. “It’s okay, you’re young and you’ll just burn it off”

Yep. I've heard "You go to the gym everyday so that's not going to make you gain any weight" :stopitslime: It's like everytime I be clean and extra disciplined with my diet she brings temptation to me and put it in the fridge or the kitchen table. That shyt be so hard to resist when it's right in your kitchen and you know if you don't eat it the shyt getting thrown away :beli:

Realized I was spending too much time in the hole at the bottom of my squats. I wasn't doing pause reps, but I like to spend a brief moment in the bottom to ensure i'm hitting depth, but I had to trust myself and I was able to hit more reps.

To be fair, I also did fewer warm up sets. I usually do two sets before increasing the weight but this time I only did one, so i'm sure that made a big difference as well.

Did your legs become a mind of it's own and pretty much pause itself?

I think once you begin to pause on a squat, the legs normalize it
