Why have this type of mindset? If you weren't meant to reach that or higher you wouldn't.
Valid question: I think the biggest thing for me is fear of injuries when I get to heavier weights and possibly being out of soccer. I already have slightly damaged discs in my spine so I have to be extra careful with the heavy weights.
I have a mental trade off of higher weights or just getting more reps/doing different exercises for growth.
When you step on the field do you ever tell yourself I don't know if I need to play this full 90 mins?
No lie, if I’m coming back from an injury, I be like 60 mins is good for now.

I think it’s mainly the injuries, the latter half of last year was tough for me mentally. Groin injury kept me out from footie for 4+ months.
